We all know how important eating healthy food is during the school day and how it effects both attainment and behaviour of pupils but how do we know what the best option for school lunches is?
Our school meals provider is Innovate - www.innovate2016.cashlessschool.co.uk
There is a lot of evidence to suggest that children who have a hot, nutritionally balanced meal at lunchtime learn and behave better in the afternoon.
Universal Free School Meals
All children in Reception, Year One and Year Two are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) that are Government funded. Taking up these meals will save you around £400 per child compared to a packed lunch and is better for your child.
Free School Meals
Some children are eligible for Free School Meals in Key Stage Two. If you are in receipt of any of these benefits below your child may be eligible for Free School Meals.
Please note: If you, or your partner, receive any working tax credits you will not be entitled to free school meals.
You can now apply online for Free School Meals. Please see the letter below.

At Frances Olive Anderson Church of England Primary School, the children are each in a team. They work together across the age groups in these teams for certain activities, such as sports day, intra school competitions and EVERGREEN carousel activity. The children really enjoy this time working with the mixed ages. The older pupils take on a supportive role and this helps to develop their leadership skills.
Every half term, the team captains lead an assembly for their teams. The theme of these link to either the current PSHE focus in terms of behaviour and safety or a topic that relates to current issues. The team captains have planned and delivered assemblies on e.g. bullying and e safety.
In addition to this the pupils all work together to collect team points for excellent behaviours for learning and manners. We expect all of our children to walk safely around school, even when there is no direct supervision, we expect children to wait by the door to allow adults to pass though. Children are awarded team points for doing so. They can also earn team points for completing homework, reading at home and practicing their spellings. At lunch times, children are rewarded with team points for good manners and for clean plates!
Our teams are named after the 4 Churches represented at our school, these are:
St Helen’s at Gate Burton – green team
St Mary’s at Knaith – yellow team
St Helen’s at Lea – blue team
All Saints at Upton – red team

Keeping Children Safe in Education September 2018
Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Board
Safeguarding is a serious matter; in the world we live in now the safe use of technology is an essential part of safeguarding. At Frances Olive Anderson Primary School we use technology and the internet extensively across all areas of the curriculum and we know that children access the internet as part of everyday life. Online safeguarding, known as e-safety is an area that is constantly evolving. It is important that we understand enough about the internet to keep our children safe from harm but it is equally important that we equip our children with the skills they need to keep themselves safe so they can experience the internet positively and responsibly. We are fortunate to have excellent support from LSCB (Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Board) and Stay Safe Partnership who keep us updated with really useful information about the latest favourite apps, social media activity and ways to keep our children safe.
