Gainsborough Mental Health Partnership

At Frances Olive Anderson Church of England Primary School we believe in promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing to ensure that the school is a community where everyone feels able to thrive.

What is Mental Health?

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make healthy choices.

Mental health is important at every stage of life.

If you are ever worried about your child's mental health and wellbeing come and talk to us, just as you would about any concerns that you have about their learning, or use the dedicated email address for the Mental Health mentor -  [email protected]

Sometimes children will need additional support for a short period. This may be in the form of a daily check-in with a trusted adult, time to talk through what they are feeling and support in developing ways of moving forward with this.

Listed below are some of the programmes/strategies we use within school:

Our PHSE curriculum is a driver for underpinning the importance of mental health and well being for our pupils. PHSE is taught weekly and then is embedded in all of our daily interactions. We believe every interaction is an intervention in supporting our children in this ever changing, complex society in which we live and flourish. Please see PHSE curriculum section for more information, also the following document may be of interest to parent/carers.
